What is Expanded Metal Mesh?

Expanded metal mesh is made by slitting and stretching a single metal sheet to form a connected network of strands and bonds, usually with diamond-shaped openings. Unlike woven or welded mesh, the openings are formed without weaving wires or welding intersections.

It is widely used in construction, industrial protection, screening, walkways, fencing and architectural applications. Expanding forms openings without punching out individual slugs; trimming and subsequent fabrication can still generate scrap.
